Do you consider yourself a die-hard Disney fan? If the answer is yes, test your knowledge, and check out the easter-eggs mentioned below.
Chances are you’ll fail because these easter-eggs are hard to notice, and only the keen-eyed can pick them out. Keep reading and find out more about these clever surprises.
An easter egg that was probably missed by many unless they were watching Frozen closely was the appearance of Flynn Rider and Rapunzel. During Elsa’s coronation scene, Anna is seen roaming from one place to another, the camera catches the characters from Rapunzel.
This detail would be missed by anyone who’s not watching the movie with a keen eye. Rapunzel is seen wearing short hair, while Flynn is in his well-known purple attire.
The repeat of an easter egg? Yes, you read that right. Aurora can be seen roaming the streets of modern-day New York in the Disney movie Oliver and Company.
The twist in her appearance was that she was wearing a blue dress and a purse. This Easter egg also appeared in the Sleeping Beauty song, “Once Upon a Dream.”
The Princess and the Frog is full of minute details, and little surprises are added here and there. One such detail is to be found in the song “Friends From the Other Side.”
As the Shadow Man sings the song in the movie, keep an eye out for the shadows he’s summoning. If you look closely, you’ll see how one shadow looks exactly like Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Lilo and Stitch didn’t shy away from dropping little references here and there related to Mulan throughout the movie. In the first instance, viewers can spot a poster for the 1998 Mulan hanging on Nani’s bedroom wall.
Another easter egg can be spotted while Lilo, Nani, and Stitch are walking downtown. During this walk, a local restaurant named Mulan Wok comes into view.
These Disney princesses love to play dress up wherever they go. In the animal-filled movie Zootopia, these two sisters make a discreet appearance that has gone unnoticed.
During the scene where Judy Hops takes a train that passes through the various districts of the city, she also crosses Tundratown. This is where you can spot Anna and Elsa in the form of two elephants dressed up just like they used to in Frozen.
Stitch is one of the sneakiest Disney characters, finding his way into almost every Disney movie. The mischievous alien is also found in the background of Big Hero 6.
If you’ve watched Big Hero 6, you’d know Hero’s staircase is decorated with a bunch of frames. One of these frames has a picture of Hero’s cat, Mochi, wearing a Stitch costume.
If you’re a die-hard Disney fan, there’s no way you would’ve missed this easter egg. During the scene where Ralph visits his bad-guy support group in Wreck-It-Ralph, a bulletin board comes into view in the background.
This board has a piece of paper with a bright red lipstick kiss on it. This is a reference to the Oscar-winning animated short film, Paperman.
The pub Snuggling Duckling in Rapunzel is home to several weird characters. During the song “I Have a Dream”, you won’t believe who’s in the pub, Pinocchio, of course.
The Disney character is seen chilling on top of the huge tree in the pub. His appearance is made apparent when one of the patrons flies around in the air.
Meet the Robinsons is full of different eras. And fortunately, the movie also pays a little homage to none other than The Jungle Book.
As the movie moves towards the end, a poster can be seen on the back fence of the Little League Field. This poster is for the adventures of Mowgli and Baloo.
The famous rooster from Moana made its way into Raya and the Last Dragon. During the market scene, the rooster can be spotted with a basket on its head.
He is seen standing next to a chicken stall in a clumsy manner. The appearance of Heihei ties both these films together, having themes of unity and tradition.
We are all well aware of the iconic Lion King opening,, right? Well, there’s another movie that has an exact opening, taking inspiration from Lion King itself.
During the opening scene of Chicken Little, the same sunrise scene is shown as in Lion King. Only the avid Lion King fans would pick on this detail.
Who knew Nemo would be found in Brother Bear? This easter egg is extremely difficult to catch on.
Unless you pause the screen and look closely, there’s no way you’d pick on this little detail. During the scene where Denahi and Sitka are fishing a mammoth-like creature disturbs them, a clownfish can be spotted and if you look closely, you’ll know it’s Nemo.
Remy’s life isn’t easy as he has to run away from both blood-hungry humans and dogs. During one of these encounters with his enemy (a dog), keen on-lookers would notice that the dog is none other than Dug.
Dug, the dog from Up, makes a cameo in Ratatouille during one of the scenes where a dog is seen barking at Remy. You’d have to look close to catch this easter-egg.
Yes, it’s true. Aladdin’s lamp made an appearance in Moana ( 2016) quite discreetly, and this detail could be easily missed unless you had an eye out for every little detail.
In the scene where Moana and Maui are fighting against Tamatoa, the crab’s treasures come into view. And among the pile of treasure, you can spot Aladdin’s magical lamp.
Moana 2 is also full of easter-eggs. Check out Moana 2’s Epic Return: A Sequel to Remember for more information on this blockbuster.
