The famous nu-metal band Slipknot is going on a tour to celebrate an important date.
Since their self-titled record came out 25 years ago, the band is going all out to make this tour one to remember.
Slipknot is ready to take the stage by storm with a new wave of energy and a nod to their old style.
But a recent accident has left one of the band members with serious injuries, despite all the fun.
Even though this loss happened, the band is still strong and committed to their music.
Sid Wilson of Slipknot was taken to the hospital with serious burns on 23 August after a fire broke out on the farm he shares with his girlfriend Kelly Osbourne.
The 47-year-old artist got second-degree burnson his face and arms and is now in the hospital getting better.
Wilson gave his friends an update on Instagram by posting a picture of his horrible cuts, which included boils and red, swollen skin.
He made jokes about getting “real sideburns” and “free eyebrow shape,” but he told his friends he would be fine.
Wilson was working on the farm when the accident happened. He lit a burn pile, which then burst.
He was taken to the hospital and treated. An X-ray was also done to make sure he had not breathed in any fire.
Wilson was told off by Kelly Osbournefor not being careful with burn piles in her video post on Instagram .
It looked like Wilson was sleeping in a hospital bed and looking through his phone. Their young son was playing with toys.
There was also a post with a sticker that said “ I have no words”and a picture of her shaking her head. The picture also showed their son trying to sing and talk.
Wilson later shared another update from the hospital. He thanked fans for their support and promised to keep them up to date. He also made a joke about having to cut off his long hair because of the burns.
He said that the last time he had a tetanus shot was around New Year’s 2017when he cut off his finger. Wilson shared more news with his friends on Instagram Live, and he also put the video on his grid.
He laughed that he was “OK” but “just hungry” and said that he needed to shave off his long hair.
He told his friends that he is “in good hands”and that he “ feels fine right now,”but he is not sure if that will stay the case.
He said that the accident happened while he was working on the farm and starting a fire in a burn pile. The fire then burst.
He told them what was going on while he was in an ambulance being taken to a different hospital with a “better”burn unit.
At the very end of his video, he thanked his fans for their support and sent them all his love.
He also promised to keep giving them information so they would not have to worry too much. Fans were told, “This is not going to stop me.”
Slipknot is getting ready for the second part of his Tour while Sid Wilson heals from his burns.
To mark the 25th anniversary of their self-titled record, Slipknot has planned a North American tour for 2024.
As part of their annual events, the nu-metal band played at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida, and the Sonic Temple Festival in Columbus, Ohio.
Shawn “Clown” Crahan, a founding member, said, “We are going to make it more personal on the anniversary… We will kick you in the face because that is what we do.
We spread that maggot culture, which is a sickness. And the disease has spread to you.”
Knocked Loose, Orbit Culture, and Vended were used as opening acts for some shows in North America and shows started from August 6 to August 12.
Slipknot will play at the following venues in September:
Slipknot is celebrating its 25th anniversary by going back to its original look from 1999.
The members of the band have adopted their famous red jumpsuits and added parts of their old masks to their new ones.
Because four new players have joined the band since their first show, percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan said that the naming method on their coveralls would not work anymore.
It used to have a number on the left shoulder, a barcode on the back, a barcode over the heart, and a tribal “S” on the right side.
This time, though, they have added armbands with the number “25” on them to mark the occasion. The pants are made by a new company and are customized to fit you better.
Crahan said that the old coveralls were bought off the shelf and had silk-screened or screen-printed designs added to them. The new ones, on the other hand, are more custom-made.
Crahan also talked about how the band members wanted to show off their masks, and they all agreed to make new versions that changed the way they looked before.
He said, “I just did a version of the O.G. look,” and he added that he does not want to live in the past or act like someone he is not.
For each person, the new masks are meant to be a true reflection of their present style and art. It was fake, to begin with, and he said he does not like orange hair anymore.
At this point in his life, he wants to be true to himself. Live Nation is putting on the “Here Comes The Pain” show, which makes stops at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the Moody Center in Austin, and more.
They get direct help from Knocked Loose , and on some nights, Orbit Culture and Vended join in.
When Slipknot’s self-titled record came out in 1999, it went double platinum and was hailed by Metal Hammer fansas one of the best starts of the last 25 years.
Interestingly, Slipknot’s first album came out after the privately released “ Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” in 1996, which was made before Corey Taylorjoined the band.
The band has changed and grown, and you can see it in their new masks and suits, which combine their old-school style with newer touches.
In 2011, Metal Hammer fans chose “Slipknot” as the best debut album of the last 25 years. It beat out albums by Guns N’ Roses, Korn, Machine Head, and Pantera.
