Jelly Roll is shaking up Nashville by opening his very own bar, “Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville,” on Broadway. Known for his heartfelt lyrics and Southern charm, he’s ready to bring his signature vibe to Music City’s bustling scene.
This isn’t just a bar it’s a piece of Jelly Roll’s world. Fans can look forward to a space that combines his love for music, good times, and unforgettable stories.
Jelly Roll first teased his bar project back in May 2023 on The Joe Rogan Experience. “I’m announcing now, right here, that I’m opening my bar on Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee, which is a real big deal,” he said.
Details about the bar’s development began emerging in mid-October, with local media diving into the story. The buzz has only grown since the initial announcement.
Jelly Roll drew inspiration from Joe Rogan’s comedy club, the Mothership, in Austin, Texas. Inside the club is Mitzi’s Bar and Lounge, dedicated to the late Mitzi Shore, the godmother of stand-up comedy.
Jelly Roll plans to bring a similar concept to his bar, Goodnight Nashville, with a space dedicated to his own father. As he told Rogan, “It was completely inspired from what you have done at Mitzi’s.”
Jelly Roll is bringing his bar, tentatively named “Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville,” to downtown Broadway. According to a permit filed with the Metro Planning Commission, the address is 209 Broadway.
The space, formerly home to Trail West Boot Store, sits in the heart of Nashville’s vibrant nightlife, making it a hotspot for locals, tourists, and country music fans alike.
A rendering of the bar’s sign shows a skull wearing a crown lit up in bold black and yellow. The logo shared on its social media hints at burgers, spirits, and, wait for it, tattoos.
It might sound wild, but tattoos fit right in with Jelly Roll’s vibe. Covered in ink himself, he’s bringing his signature style to every corner of the bar.
Jelly Roll’s bar is taking entertainment to new heights literally. The website boasts a five-story experience featuring the tallest rooftop in Music City, offering unbeatable views.
The space will have a bold tattoo-inspired theme, reflecting Jelly Roll’s edgy style. From the decor to the vibe, it’s all about making a big statement in true Jelly Roll fashion.
Jelly Roll is creating something special with his new bar on Broadway, and it’s personal. The venue will feature a private back room called Buddy’s Bar, a tribute to his late father, Horace “Buddy” DeFord, who passed away in 2019.
As Jelly Roll says, “Rule is, it’s open to the public when it’s open to the public and when it’s not, it’s not.” He’s also proud to be the first Nashville native to own a bar on Broadway.
Jelly Roll’s bar is a collaboration between Nashville’s Alpha Development, Arizona’s Evening Entertainment Group, and Creative Equity. Amish Purohit, managing partner of Alpha Development, shared, “We’re proud to bring to life the 209 Broadway building and look forward to completing the project as the premier venue on the street.”
Diane Deskin of Evening Entertainment Group added, “We are grateful for the relationship, and we are excited to open.” The partnership is set to make a big impact on Broadway.
With Jelly Roll’s strong music connections, fans might just spot some familiar faces. While there’s no official announcement, it’s easy to imagine country stars and fellow artists making surprise appearances.
The bar could become a go-to hotspot for celebrity sightings and impromptu performances, adding even more excitement to Broadway’s nightlife. It’s where music and magic could collide.
Fans are ecstatic about Jelly Roll’s dive into the bar scene. Social media is alive with anticipation for what promises to be a standout venue.
Many can’t wait to see how his personality and music shape the vibe, with some already planning visits. This bar is bound to make waves.
Country stars owning restaurants is nothing new. Country music and great food go hand in hand, which is why many country stars, like Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, and Toby Keith, have turned their passion into thriving restaurant and bar empires.
Over the years, several artists have grown their culinary ventures into multi-city franchises, creating go-to spots where fans can enjoy tasty meals while soaking in the sounds of country music. These stars have truly turned their love for food and music into unforgettable experiences.
If Jelly Roll’s Broadway bar becomes a hit, it could spark expansions to other cities. Fans are already hoping to see locations pop up in their hometowns, making this venture even more exciting.
Other country stars, like Jimmy Buffett with Margaritaville and Toby Keith with I Love This Bar & Grill, turned initial success into nationwide empires. Jelly Roll might just follow in their footsteps, blending his musical roots with entrepreneurial ambition.
Jimmy Buffett entered the restaurant world in 1985 with Margaritaville in Key West, Fla. While his Gulf Shores location failed, Margaritaville grew to 32 locations worldwide, including eight in airports.
The brand expanded into hotels, casinos, vacation clubs, and even a cruise line in 2021. It also inspired Cheeseburger in Paradise in 2002, though it closed in 2020. Buffett built a dining empire.
Similarly, Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction combines a hearty four-course meal with an action-packed rodeo show. Guests enjoy trick riding, competitions, music, and more in a uniquely Dolly experience.
With locations in Branson, Mo., and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., at Dollywood, the fun doesn’t stop there. Dollywood also offers Pirate’s Voyage, another dinner show adventure packed with swashbuckling entertainment.
Jelly Roll’s journey from a chart-topping singer to a budding entrepreneur is nothing short of inspiring. Known for his soulful hits and raw storytelling, he’s now ready to make waves in Nashville’s business scene.
His upcoming bar on Broadway is his latest venture, blending his love for music with a bold step into hospitality. It’s a new chapter for Jelly Roll, showcasing his drive to expand beyond the stage.
