Country star Parker McCollum has just stepped into a new chapter of life—fatherhood!
The “ Burn It Down ” singer and his wife, Hallie Ray, are now the proud parents of a baby boy, whom they welcomed into the world on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
The couple joyfully shared the news on social media, introducing their little one with a sweet message: “Major Yancey Tyler McCollum 8/8/24.”
In a series of touching photos posted online , Parker and Hallie Ray offered a glimpse into their first moments as a family of three.
The images capture the new parents holding their son in the hospital, followed by a cozy at-home snapshot where Parker introduces Major to the family dog, Ruger.

In an interview on the Spencer Graves Show on July 23, Parker revealed that their son will be named Major Yancey McCollum.
The Texas-born country singer shared that he got the idea for the name “Major” after watching old college football highlights featuring Texas Longhorns quarterback Major Applewhite.
He thought “Major McCollum” sounded cool. As for the middle name, “Yancey” was chosen by Hallie Ray, who loved the way it fit with the first name.
Together, they’ve created a name that carries both personal and sentimental significance for their family.
Parker McCollum, based in Austin, Texas, is known for his modern Americana sound that blends rock & roll, classic songwriting, soul, indie rock, and Texas Red Dirt country.
He began his music career with the debut album The Limestone Kidin 2015.
McCollum first gained major attention in 2017 with his EPs Probably Wrong: Session One and Session Two, both of which did well on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
