The 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards are right around the corner, and all eyes are on Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry for this exciting event airing on September 26.
While the awards are always packed with star power and top-tier performances, this year’s show brings something extra special: Shania Twain as the host!
Hosting duties come with their challenges, even for a music legend like Twain.
Here’s what she had to say about the big night and why, despite her nerves, she’s ready to embrace it all.
Shania Twain is no stranger to awards shows, but hosting one? That’s a new challenge!
In a recent interview with Taste of Country, the “ Man! I Feel Like a Woman “superstar shared her excitement mixed with a bit of stage fright.
“Listen, I plan on going to have a lot of fun,”Twain said with a smile.
She’s used to performing at award shows, but when it comes to hosting, Twain admits, “I’m a very spontaneous speaker and thinker, so if I get rambling, they might have to take the hook out and get me off the stage.”
Still, she’s not letting nerves get in the way. “It’s gonna be more about adrenaline than nerves,” she continued. “Just feeling excited, building up to meeting artists that I haven’t met yet.”
While hosting might come with pressure, Twain sees the night as a chance to celebrate the heart of the industry: the artists and fans.
“My responsibility is to host hard-working artists, to take my hat off to their talents and to join the fans in celebrating the music they love the most,” she shared.
Despite the jitters, Twain insists she’s there as a fan first and foremost. She’s ready to enjoy every moment alongside viewers at home and the live audience.
As much as Twain is a natural on stage, she shared one personal hurdle she’s anticipating: keeping up with the teleprompter.
“I’m not the greatest reader,” she revealed , laughing at the thought of squinting at the camera to follow along.
But even if she stumbles over a word or two, she promises she’ll be herself — charming, genuine, and maybe a little giddy.
“I think I’ll be more like a giddy child,” Twain joked, fully embracing the unpredictable energy that comes with live shows.
As if Twain’s hosting debut isn’t enough, the night is set to feature performances from country heavyweights like Keith Urban , Lady A, and Parker McCollum.
Adding to the excitement, Kane Brown will be honored with the prestigious Country Champion Award, while Miranda Lambert will be celebrated as this year’s Country Icon.
The 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, hosted by Shania Twain, will air live on NBC and Peacock at 8 PM ET on September 26.
Whether you’re tuning in for the music, the awards , or just to see Shania work her magic on stage, this is one country event you won’t want to miss!
The 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards are recognizing fresh voices and artists who are pushing the boundaries of country music.

Even traditional artists like Luke Combs and Lainey Wilson are being honored for staying at the top of their game.
Moreover, several new categories have been added this year, including special awards for “Female Song,” “Male Song,” and “New Artist Song.”
