On Tuesday, a Spanish warship intercepted the US treasure hunting vessel Odyssey Explorer, which authorities suspect was used to retrieve(回収する、探して持ってくる)$500 million worth of gold and silver from a sunken Spanish galleon(ガレオン船). Florida-based Odyssey Marine Exploration, which owns the ship, said it legally discovered half a million silver coins and hundreds of gold objects while working on a wreck(難破船)code-named "Black Swan" at a secret location in the Atlantic Ocean. Spanish authorities believe that the sunken ship is either located in Spanish waters or is a Spanish galleon and that Spain is therefore the rightful owner of the salvaged trove(埋蔵物、貴重な発見物).
