今オバマ前大統領が書いた「父からの夢」を読んでいる。オバマ少年2歳の時黒人の
父親はハワイの家に帰ってこなくなった。その後母親はインドネシア人と結婚してイ
ンドネシアにわたることになるが、そのいきさつを知らなった私は何と尻軽な母親か
と思っていたがこの本を読んで納得した。
この本によるとインドネシア人は最初の黒人の父親と同様ハワイ大学でオバマ少年の
母親と同級生だった。黒人の父親がいなくなったと知るとそのインドネシア人はオバ
マ少年が4歳の時からハワイの彼の家にしばしば遊びに来て少年とレスリングをした
り少年のおじいさんとチェスをしたりして彼の家に入り浸りになっていた。2年間
たって彼の母親に結婚してインドネシアに来てほしいとプロポーズした。母親からそ
れを聞いたオバマ少年は「もし彼を愛しているならいいよ」と答えた。すると母親は
頬を震わせ涙をこらえてオバマ少年をずっと抱きしめてくれていたとのことである。
それからすぐおじいさんおばあさんに支度してもらって途中3日間日本に立ち寄って
鎌倉の大仏を観たり高い山の上にある湖のフェリーの上で抹茶アイスを食べたりした
思い出を作ってインドネシアに渡ったのである。

I am reading “Dreams from my father" written by former President Obama.
When Obama was a boy 2 years old, the black father did not come back home in
Hawaii. After that the mother married Indonesian and moved Indonesia, I was
thinking her how abandoned woman because I did not know details, but I
understood the reason and agreed after reading this book.
According to this book the Indonesian was classmate with the Obama boy’s
mother at the University of Hawaii as well as the first black father. When
the Indonesian know that the black father is gone, he came to Hawaii's home
often when Obama boy was 4 years old, often went to wrestle with a boy and
played chess with a boy's grandfather and he was stuck in her house. After
two years he proposed to come to Indonesia. The Obama boy who heard it from
his mother replied "If you love him” Then the mother trembled her cheeks
and caught her tears and hugged Obama boy forever. Then grandparents
prepared immediately, and they flight to Indonesia. On a three day stopover
in Japan, the mother and son saw the great bronze Buddha at Kamakura and ate
green tea ice cream on a ferry that passed through high mountain lakes.
