2013年5月からソンドゥ・ミリウ図書館で働いている司書のJaneの言葉です。
Jane, the Librarian working at the Library since May 2013 gave words below:
1) I selected the Librarian & Information Course because
- It enables one to have knowledge at different level, and
- I wanted to have time in attending to children and adult and study their characteristics.
2) I was trained in librarianship such as
- Classification scheme of books,
- Recording of books,
- Shelving and Reshelving of books,
- Good housekeeping to prevent dust from destroying books, and
- How to make book pockets.
3) I feel about this library since I was engaged in,
- I find it interesting because at times it enables one remembers what he/she learnt while in primary and secondary school, and
- I am interested in studying higher so that I may go and be a tutor and one day in the future buy some books for the children and donate.
3) I want to do for the library
- To formulate library rules and regulations which will enable the readers to make maximum use of the library and books,
- To ensure that the books un shelved in their right position by I avoiding over-crowding of books and right shelving of books to prevent them from getting torn.
- To check the bags of the readers who may leave with library books illegally this will reduce theft hence the number of books will not reduce.
4) Others
I learnt reasons for putting ownership mark in the library material such as:
- Reason for processing library materials, and
- Reasons for spine making information materials in the library.
