最近、動向が気になる2車種がこの105系訓練車と京浜東北線の209系である。
209系は2007（平成19）年12月からE233系への置き換えが始まり、「寿命半分」の目標が達成され始めている。これによって、その一部が訓練車に転用されるのではという噂が流れている。そうなると現在訓練車として活躍している新秋津と久里浜の105系は廃車になるということが考えられる。
「べびプリ」の麗ちゃんの影響で、鉄道ファン以外からも105系訓練車が注目されそうな予感がした矢先、別の意味でそれが注目されてしまうのかもしれない。
I feel uneasy about 105 Series training car and 209 Series on Keihin-tohoku Line.
105 Series training car was converted from the two carriages of 103 Series used to be in service on Senseki Line. However, its conversion was over 20 years ago and it is said that new comer drivers can't learn driving trains having one handle master controller because it had a old style cab.
209 Series started to be replaced by E233 Series, and some railfans say that some 209 Series would be converted to training car to replace 105 Series. So, if it will be true, two sets of 105 Series training car, at Shin-akitsu and Kurihama, will be scrapped.
105 Series training carriage will be watched by the fans of Urara from "BabyPrincess", but they will be done with different point of view.
