花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

16日は、仙山線作並駅から作並温泉へ。

仙台市郊外には、秋保温泉と作並温泉、2箇所の温泉地があり、僕は秋保温泉へは2度行ったことがあったものの、作並温泉へは1度も行ったことがなかった。



今回僕がお世話になったのは、作並駅1番線ホームにも大きな看板が掲げられている岩松旅館。



江戸時代後期の1796（寛政8）年、作並の肝煎りを任されていた岩松壽隆が時の仙台藩主・伊達斉村公に、広瀬川のほとりに湧き出る作並温泉の開湯（一般開放）を願い出た。そして藩主の許可が下り、8年の時を費やして、屋根付きの浴場や長屋、岩風呂へ下りてゆく階段を造った。これが岩松旅館の始まりである。

この広瀬川のほとりに立つ岩風呂は今なお現役の源泉かけ流しの天然温泉として営業している。原則混浴だが、5:30～7:00と19:30～21:00は女性専用の時間帯となっている。

部屋からの眺めも、温泉街を取り囲む奥羽山脈の緑が美しく映える。



夕食は宮城県や東北の美味しいものがたくさんラインアップされたバイキングを選んだ。

牛タンシチューや山形県名物の芋煮など。白ご飯は宮城県産ひとめぼれ。

夕食バイキングを選んだ人は、「おもてなし逸品プレート」をロブスター・あわび・山形牛のステーキの3種類から1つ選ぶことができ、僕は山形牛のステーキを選んだ。


On the night of 16th, I stayed at Sakunami Hot Springs in Miyagi Prefecture.

There are two famous hot springs, Akiu and Sakunami, in the mountainous area of Sendai City. I have travelled to Akiu twice, but it was my first visit to Sakunami.

I chose Iwamatsu Inn, the oldest hot spring bath since the 18th century (late Edo period in Japan). Toshitaka Iwamatsu, an official in Sakunami, requested the domain head, Narimura Date, to open a hot spring by Hirose River to the public. Under the head's permission, Toshitaka spent eight years constructing a roof over the hot spring bath and stone steps.

The bath still exists. It is gender-free but between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM, and between 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM is women only.

From the guest room window, I could see greenish scenery in Ouu Mountains surrounding the hot spring resort.

I chose Yamagata beef stake and all-you-can-eat dinner. The local cuisines in Tohoku Area, such as stewed beef tongue and Imoni (soup with satoimo Japanese taro and sliced or block meats).
