From Yanagawa-kibonomori-koenmae [Yanagawa Kibo no Mori Park] Station, I restarted the travel on Abukuma Kyuko Line.
This time, the train I boarded was 8100 Series, which has been in service since 1988 as the line's extension to Fukushima and electrification. It was also the first AC-acceptable carriage on a normal railway except those of JR's (before that Kobe New Transit 8000 Series and Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau 100 Series as AGT carriages had already appeared).
The transverse seatings for four were mainly laid out in 8100 Series. The interior resembles 455 Series and 717 Series on Tohoku Main Line or Banetsu West Line, which creates a nostalgic atmosphere.
The train ran in the agricultural area north of Fukushima basin, but residences increased near Yanagawa Station. From Hobara Station, the train started to run in the residential area.
Between Oroshimachi Station and Fukushima Station, the railway joined up with Tohoku Main Line.
Before arriving at Fukushima Terminal, I could see the abuilding approach track of Yamagata Shinkansen.
It was memorable to travel by both AB900 Series and 8100 Series.
