Toshiko lives alone. She regularly receives some money from the municipal authority because she always rakes up the fallen leaves of the ginkgo trees along the avenue near her house. In these days, when the annuity is reduced for various reasons, this part-time work is good for her to earn pin money. She gives all of this money to her grandson.
Toshiko still doesn't know that these ginkgo trees had been planted by her great-grandfather a long time ago.
