Today's topic is SSP.Especially, this is for a person who wants to study in the Philippines.
When you come to the Philippines, you have to get your certain visa. (Exclusive Visa-exemption) Tourist-Tourist visa Student-Student visa (A student who goes to a college or a high school in the Philippines )
Then, which visa do you have to get if you want to go to an English academy? This situation, the school must get "SSP(SPECIAL STUDY PERMIT)" for their students. (A student pays for it after he/she enters an academy in the Philippines. You don't need to prepare it in Japan or your country.) ****************************************** SSP(SPECIAL STUDY PERMIT) 1-If you change a school, you must get it again. 2-It is valid for 6 months. 3-If you go out, it becomes invalid. 4-SSP fee is more than US$100.It's expensive. 5-It may take over a month to get SSP. *****************************************
There are a lot of English academies whose SSPs aren't permitted by the goverment. This is illegal. But, this is the Philippines. Sometimes, there are atmospheres where it is not needed. In my case, my ex-school had mistaken in getting my SSP. So I had one warning.....Now it's ok,.,.,. How about you if you stay in the Philippines? Don't you have such an experience?
Again, This is the Philippines. If you paid SSP fee, you should confirm your passport. Perhaps, a school might not get your SSP and they might get your money...
***************************************** Tourist visa and SSP
I heard from an immigration officer about an extension fee. An SSP holder is cheaper than tourist when he extends his visa. The gap is P500. If I think of the whole fee, of course, an SSP holder must pay a lot due to getting SSP.
