His wife, Mrs.Negishi was (still is) a medical interpreter in Lafayette. She has taken care of lots of Japanese families including us. When I was invited over lunch in 2003 or 2004, she talked about her husband and their tough life. They moved to the state many years ago, and I believe that it must have been really hard for them to live and fit in a society as a researcher from Asia. Now, their efforts were well rewarded!!
We are so impressed! Can you imagine that all Japanese media reported Purdue Univ. and Lafayette throughout the day?
