京都・ 宇治橋・

This is one of the oldest brides　in Japan.

我が国最古の橋・・です。

It is believe to have been constructed for -

  the  first time in 646  ,more than 1300 years -

  ago.

 １３００年以上・昔・大化２年：（６４６）に、初めて架けられた・

　と伝えられます、・　

  In it's long history ,

  this bridge has been damaged again and again-

  by wars,floods and earth quakes .

　その長い歴史で・・洪水や・地震などの・・被害は勿論

　戦乱に、巻き込まれたことも数え切れません。・

  However 、people have restored this bridge -

  several times ,

しかし・・橋は、・・そのつど・・架け替えなおされて・・

　きました。

　indicating that Uji has been  an important point-

  for crossing the river .

　ここ、・宇治が、・・交通上・・重要な場所で・ありつつけた

　ことの・・あらわれでしょう。・
