《 kyoto ・ Uji Bridge　》

京都 ・宇治橋

This bridge has always been familiar with peaple -

  as a symbol of Uji ,as a place of scenic beauty .

また、この橋は、・景勝の地・宇治の象徴として・

 　親しまれてきました。・

 It has appeared in works  of literature -

 ("Kokinwaka-shu"　and 　"The Tale of Genji")

 and in pieces of art ( paintingｓ and craft products)

　歴史的に、古今和歌集や、源氏物語を初めとする・・

　文学作品・絵画や工芸品といった・美術作品に

　描かれてきました。・

　  The present bridge is 155,4 meters long -

   and 25 meters wide    and  was consytructed -

   in March,1996.

現在の橋は、・・長さ・１５５，４m/幅・２５m・・・

平成８年・９月に、、架け替えられたものです。・

It's design comes from the many histories and -

　cultures of the bridge .

  For example ,the ”Giboshi”　 -

  （oinion -shaped ornaments) on the wooden-

 　 railings  is one of the sights of Uji.

 　It's 　elegant  figure is constrantly -

   reflected on the surface of the river .

木製の高欄に・・擬宝珠が、・あしらわれる等・・この橋の・・

　豊かな・・歴史と文化に・ふさわし・デザインとして

　優雅な姿 を、・川面にうつして・・行くでしょう。・・
