２０２１年から２０２４年までドジャースの１塁ベースコーチだった。

お馴染み、大谷選手が出塁した際に、ヘルメット同士をぶつけ合う、ヘッドバンプを見たことが多いと思う。

大谷選手は出塁率が高いために、マカラコーチと接することが多かった。
