The true aristocracy and the true proletariat of the world are both in understanding with tragedy.
真の貴族階級と真の無産階級はともに悲劇を理解している。
To them it is the fundamental principle of God, and the key,- the minor key, - to existence.
彼らにとって、それは神そのものであり、自分がこの世に生まれてきた理由を考える手がかりとなるものだ。
They differ in this way from the bourgeoisie of all classes, who deny tragedy, who will not tolerate it , and to whom the word of tragedy mean in itself unpleasantness.
この点であらゆる階層のブルジョアジーとはことなる。
ブルジョアジーは悲劇に耐えられない。
彼らにとっては、その言葉だけでも不快なものだ。
白人中産階級の移民とネイティブとの間にある多くの誤解はこの事実から起こる。
ちょっと難しいが、悲しみに満ちた彼女の人生を思うと意味深い言葉だと感じた。
