　2010エラーが出るT43(2668-92J)にmodBIOSを適応させたら、そのまま起動しなくなってしまった。「ピー、ピ、ピ」とbeep音がなるが画面にはなにも表示されず、LEDが点灯するだけだ。これってBIOSがとんでしまったということなのか…。

　適応させたmodBIOSは、かつてR52の2010エラーを回避するために使用した「R52-T43-76UJ29US_SLIC2.1_M09_no_1802_no_2010_by_TTAV134」
　起動させたところ、エラーが出て先へ進めないため、BIOSのチェックを外して実行。

　ところがこれがいけなかった…。


　無事に新しいBIOSの書き込みが終わり、再起動した思ったら…。まったく起動できない状態になってしまったのだ。



　このT43は外部グラフィックコントローラ「Mobility　Radeon X300」を搭載した最上位モデル。通常のT43とはBIOSが違うのかもしれない。だとしたらBIOSをアップデート（本当は別の機種のBIOSを上書き）したら当然起動しなくなってしまうだろう。

　調べてみると、GPU搭載機種と通常の機種はBIOSが違い、modBIOSも異なることが判明。（ああ、もうちょっとしっかりと調べてからアップデートすべきだった…。 もう後の祭りです…。）

　さてこの障害から復旧させるためには、別のT43からBIOSを調達して貼り換えるか、ROMライターを使ってBIOSを書き直すしかないのだが…。果たして可能なのか…。

　まずは、T43のBIOSを突き止めなければ…。

HI, I have a R52 type 1848. I flashed the bios with a flash for type 1858 and during the flash, a message display : "Insert a recovery crisis diskette". When I have rebooted, the laptop makes 1 long beep and 2 shorts beeps (Maybe it's the graphic card) and I have a black screen. I made this diskette but it's not possible to boot whith the floppy usb.

Yes, we can repair the BIOS binary code but you have to remove it from the motherboard and read it in a programmer. It is a SST parallel flash 40 pin.

The fuse must be replaced with another one exactly the same value, not just soldering a wire there.


　T43のBIOSチップは40pin TSOP規格チップのようである。作業はちょっとたいへんになるが、これならなんとか載せ換えすることもできそうだ。

　ということで、早速T43を分解。クリーニングしながら細部まで分解していく。問題のBIOSチップは、CardBusスロットの下に実装されていた。



　白い絶縁シートとシールを取り除くと、このチップ「SST 49LF008A」であることが判明。調べてみると、「8 Mbit Firmware Hub」とある。

　まあ、一番簡単なのは、GPU搭載のT43ジャンクシスボからBIOSチップを移植することだろう。T43やR52動作品のBIOSをGPU搭載機のBIOSに書き換えて移植する方法も考えられるが…。
