Despite of the bad weather, that didn't allow us to see the most beautiful moon in the year, we still enjoyed the moon.



Americans calls autumn “Fall”.
Leaves and nuts are falling from the trees.
(You have to be careful not hit by the falling nuts. Even a small acorn, if it falls from sky high on your head, it would be painful.)




The dogs found a caterpillar which might have fallen from the tree.
I think it’s a Spotted Apatelodes.
I hope it’s not a Fall Webworm which are pest and can damage trees.


Not all moths are dull colors, particularly tiger moths (Arctiidae) and giant silkworm moths (Saturniidae).

Fall Webworm moth is prettier than Spotted Apatelodes moth, but I am sure that they don’t care what I think.

Anyway this white caterpillar was cute.
Some people are allergic to caterpillars, I think it’s not safe me to touch them.
When I was young, I had a very bad rush on my face from moth scales.

それにしてもこのふわふわ白い毛虫は可愛いですね。
まぁ、毛虫アレルギーの人が多いと言う話なので私は触らない方が賢明なようです。
私には子供の頃　林間学校で蛾の燐粉が卓上のハンカチに落ち、
それを知らずに使用して顔が被れ目が腫れた経験があります。
