Originally, Japan was a nation known as the Land of Yamato, a nation that sought great harmony with nature.
This is the way of life taught to us by Amaterasu, the deity of Shinto: to live in harmony with nature, as children of the gods, in accordance with the divine will, and with joy.
The spirit of great harmony is the very essence of nature itself—it is the divine will itself.
In nature, trees and flowers alike, while each boasting its own beauty, harmonize as part of the whole of nature, enriching the world of the gods.
Humans, as children of the gods, are also part of nature.
In accordance with the laws of nature, many guiding spirits—beginning with Japanese Shinto—have guided the Japanese people so that, with order and propriety, the children of the gods may sustain and uplift one another.
Through these teachings, the Japanese people have come to see the presence of the divine in all things and have lived in harmony with nature—beautifully and simply—with humility, propriety, and deep faith.
Japan was a sacred land known as “the Land of the Gods,” and Japanese women—chaste, elegant, devout, and humble in serving their husbands, yet dignified and proud—
However, after the war, because Japan had united as one to demonstrate great strength during the conflict, others feared that Japan might once again engage in dangerous actions. And so, they rewrote history. They incorporated materialistic values and steered the Japanese people away from their faith.
That is why I wish to return to God, to God’s love, and restore our values to their original form.
Furthermore, by establishing the Law for Women, I hope people will come to realize that children are the treasure of humanity, and that we must raise them properly.
