Love may flare up intensely in an instant. But when that passion burns out—when love fails to translate into reality—or when both partners forget the spirit of love and mutual growth, that love remains nothing more than a fleeting infatuation. Still, I hope you’ll take that first step with courage and strive through life to learn what love truly is.
But what comes after that—it is the mutual commitment to continue loving one another. Just as a relationship begins with romance and leads to the love of marriage, we accept and acknowledge each other’s good and bad qualities, and within that, we nurture each other’s wonderful divine nature. The beginning of an endless, unceasing love lies within that love itself.
Love may be a quiet thing. It may not be passionate. But within it, we learn about the desire to nurture one another, the cycle of love, the bond between a man and a woman, and how to sustain one another. In a sense, this is the most essential “main event” for a man and a woman.
