On 31st August, I went to Sophia University in Tokyo following my sister going to the open day.

At there, I heard an interesting model lecture about Bilingualism.

The professor who did the lecture grew up in Canada with Japanese parents untill she became 31years old.

She said she just came back to Japan 5months ago.

She is a blilingual using academic English and academic Japanese fluently.

The most interesting thing I learned from her lecture was that,
to be a upper level user of the second language (for me it's English)you have to be a good user of your native language.

Especially, writing and reading ability of your native language are directly transfared to the same fields of your second language.

I was impressed of this fact because there is a trend that some Japanese parents don't think their native language is not really important for their children's education.

This fact should be known among Japanese people who is feeling Japanese is just an obstacle for their second language leraning.
