We were in the Arctic Circle of Norway on board cruising for Svolvaer in the Lofoten Islands.
As it was such a hot summer day as to surprise even their crew members, the breeze from the
fjord was so cool and pleasant.
Sitting on a wooden deck bench I exposed my insteps to high transparency sunbeams.
Besides me, some were taking a nap in deck chairs and others were leisurely watching the
landscapes with their jaws on the handrails.
The ship was moving forward swimmingly without rock thanks to the nature of the fjord.
These wooden ships with warmth belong to Hurtigruten AS and depart from Alta, northern
Norway and head south to the Lofoten Islands for a week journey. The crew members were

after exchanging greetings with the regular waiters. They were so delicious (Salmons were served
abundantly for breakfast and reindeer meat was sometimes served for lunch with raspberry jam.)
The log wall there make you feel as if to dine at a lodge in a summer resort. Lovely were the white
lace curtains on the windows. Over there you can see the mountains with snow as if put on white
caps passing by and furthermore you have the command of the fjord which reflects these
landscapes like a mirror. There won’t be any other spaces you feel so pleasant. No wonder that
the ships are so beloved by sea trip lovers.
