過激派自爆事件 at マルダン in パキスタ
Mardan地区Garyala村での記念撮影↑（1977年3月20日、Garyala、Mardan、Pakistan）麦畑↑（1977年3月20日、Garyala、Mardan、Pakistan） 昨日（2015年12月29日）、パキスタン北西部にあるマルダンで、自爆による爆発事件がありました。 市民26名が死亡、70人余りが怪我をしたとのことです。 この事件に関して、パキスタン最大のイスラム過激派「パキスタン・タリバン運動」の関連組織が犯行声明を出したようです。 パキスタン北西部では、軍による大規模な過激派掃討作戦を行っていて、2014年１２月にも「パキスタン・タリバン運動」が、軍事作戦への報復として軍が運営する学校を襲撃する事件も起きています。 写真の景色は、マルダン近郊にある村の麦畑の1977年頃の様子です。【Bon appétit !】 Pakistan suicide bombing kills 'at least 26' in Mardan A suspected suicide attack at a government office in north-west Pakistan has killed at least 26 people, police say. The bomb went off outside the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) office in the town of Mardan. A faction of the Pakistani Taliban said it carried out the attack, which left more than 45 others wounded. The attack is one of the deadliest since last December's massacre of 150 pupils and teachers in Peshawar. エラワン祠その後 in バンコク
外から見たエラワン廟↑（2015年12月8日、バンコク、タイ）エラワン廟へお参りする人々↑（2015年12月8日、バンコク、タイ） エラワン廟の爆破事件からもう4か月がたちました。 先日、エラワン廟を通りかかったので、お参りしてきました。 信心深いタイ人が次から次へと訪問しに来ていて、とても賑わっていました。 境内には3人の警官がいて、近くのテントには20名程の警官が待機して警戒に当たっていましたが、物々しい雰囲気は全くなく、和やかに人々はお参りしています。 歩道上に並んでいた花売りや小鳥売りの屋台は一軒もなく、歩道だけになっています。 【Bon appétit !】 Erawan Shrine in Bangkok is Brahman, not strictly Buddhist. And yet, this famous shrine attracts more visitors than many of the city's temples. It was erected during the mid 1950s, after the Thai government had decided to build the luxury Erawan Hotel on this location. However, the first stages of the construction were beset with so many problems that superstitious labourers refused to continue unless the land spirits were appeased（なだめる）. 東京タワーの膝元に江戸発見
とうふ屋うかいの長屋門↑（2015年11月23日、港区、東京）先八寸↑（2015年11月23日、とうふ屋うかい、港区、東京） ここはどうやら東京タワーの真下に位置しているようです。 長屋門をくぐって中に入って行くと石畳の階段があり、日本庭園が目の前に広がります。 庭園を抜けると、そこは江戸情緒。 その向こうには大正ロマンを感じさせるお部屋も。 ここは、東京芝のとうふ屋うかい。 東京タワーの膝元に江戸発見です。 写真の八寸は、落花生とうふ、蟹きゅうり酢、柿の葉寿司、からすみ、蕪天ぷらです。 美味しい料理を堪能させていただきました。【Bon appétit !】 This restaurant enjoys spacious grounds and a garden despite its convenient downtown location with view of Tokyo Tower. The restaurant building itself was actually part of a 200-year-old brewery originally, and it was later moved here. 子供を抱いた靴屋さん in パキスタン
道端の靴屋さん↑（1977年3月20日、Garyala、Mardan、NWFP、Pakistan） 道に面した家の壁際に、子供を抱いた人が座っています。 近づいていくと、どうも靴屋さんのようです。 ゴムの切れ端や金鎚などがあり、壊れたサンダルや靴を修理しているようです。 道端の靴屋は、2015年の東ティモールでもたくさん見かけます。 ラオスでも見かけます。 靴やサンダルの修理需要はいつの時代にもあるのでしょう。 とても器用にサンダル等を直しています。【Bon appétit !】 In Dili, there is one department type store and a few other scattered stores that sell clothing, though not clothing up to most American standards. Very few shoes are available locally. Swimsuits cannot be found locally and should be brought with you. Very little Western-style clothing and sizes are available locally. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and sandals. There are a few tailors and dressmakers available locally, and the quality and price for these services varies greatly. 映画俳優ら共に↑（1977年3月19日、Garyala、Mardan、Pakistan）村人と散歩↑（1977年3月20日、北西辺境州、パキスタン） 独立心旺盛な村人たちは、反体制派（反ブット派）で、政治の話が大好きでした。 1977年のこの頃はちょうど、ブット（父）大統領の選挙が行われていた頃で、村人たちの話題は過激なものでした。 その後ウサマビンラデン等タリバン等の拠点あるいは潜伏地点となった北西辺境州がどうなったかは、この目で確かめてみたいところですが、訪問していません。 当時たくさんの写真を撮っていますが、そこに写っている人々がどうされているのか知りたいものです。【Bon appétit !】 New information of Osama Bin Laden's location has been emerging since his death and the arrest of his wives. 自家用馬車 in パキスタン
自家用馬車↑（1977年3月19日、Garyala村、北西辺境州、パキスタン） パキスタン北西辺境州Garyala村の知人宅を訪れたのは、私がまだ学生の頃、1977年です。 この頃は村の中で車を見かけることはありませんでした。 どこかへ行く時は馬車に乗ってでかけます。 ここGaryala村では自家用馬車を持っている村人がいて乗らせていただきました。 自家用馬車は初めて乗りました。 カラチやラホールのような都市の場合はリクシャと呼ばれる軽三輪車が走っていましたが、それでもタンガと呼ばれる営業用の馬車のほうが一般的で、私自身は何回も馬車に乗って移動しました。【Bon appétit !】 Tangas were popular before the advent（出現、到来）of automobiles and are still in use in some parts of South Asia. They are a popular mode of transportation because they are fun to ride in, and are usually cheaper to hire than a taxi or rickshaw. However, in many cities, tangas are not allowed to use highways because of their slow pace. サダール布 in パキスタン
サダールを身に着けた女性↑（1977年3月20日、Garyala、Mardan,、パキスタン）水浴びする女子たち↑（1977年3月20日、Garyala、Mardan,、パキスタン）ペシャワールの近郊Mardan地域の布は、白地に赤い模様が特徴だそうです。身につけている広い布はサダールと呼ばれています。サダールの模様は地域ごとに異なり、この辺りの女性の多くは白地に赤い模様が入っているサダールを身にまとっています。【Bon appétit !】The term Pakistani clothing refers to the ethnic clothing that is typically worn by individuals in the country of Pakistan and by the people of Pakistani origin. 10ルピー札↑（1977年3月19日撮影、パキスタン） パキスタン人が日本政府発行の10ルピー札を持っていました。 えっ!!日本政府が10ルピー札を発行?? 確かにThe Japanese Governmentと書かれています。 所有者は、第2次世界大戦の時に、日本軍の捕虜になっています。 所有者によれば、その時収容所で日本軍からもらったお金だと言うことです。 どうして、捕虜の労働に対して賃金が支払われたのかは不明です。 当時、パキスタンは英領インドの一部でしたので、パキスタン人はイギリス軍の兵隊として日本と戦ったということです。 確かに、このお金の所有者は、人を罵倒する言葉（例えばバカヤロー）を覚えていました。【Bon appétit !】 The British Indian Army's strength was about 189,000 in 1939. There were about 3,000 British officers and 1,115 Indian officers. The army was expanded greatly to fight in World War II. By 1945, the strength of the Army had risen to about two and a half million. 川で洗濯する女性たち↑（1977年3月19日、Garyala, Mardan, Pakistan）↑（1977年3月20日、Garyala, Mardan, Pakistan） 川で、女性たちが洗濯をしたり水浴びをしています。 東ティモールでは、水汲みや洗濯は女性や子供の仕事と考えられていました。 2009年頃のラオスもやはり、女性や子供の仕事でした。 1977年のパキスタンでは、やはり洗濯は女性の仕事とされていました。 さて、2015年の今は、どうでしょうか？ 改善されていることを期待したいです。 【Bon appétit !】 Due to the religious and cultural values in Pakistan, women who do try to enter the workforce are often pushed into the lower of the three employment structures. This structure level, unorganized services sector, has low pay, low job security and low productivity.
