House with Udatsu is the symbol of the rich merchant house. So Rising Udatsu in Japanese means “success “.
The non successful man sometimes are called “Not rising Udatsu men” by their wives. My wife and my sister-in-law may call their husbands so.

Wakimach’s merchant succeeded with dealing indigo in Edo period. Nowadays Tokushima prefecture is No 1 of indigo production. We can buy indigo dyeing goods in the flower arrangement’s house. My wife bought 2 indigo dyeing scarfs for my children’s mothers-in-law. Since ancient times parents have to be considerate for children’s parents-in-low.
The indigo blue also is called “Japan blue”
So the indigo blue is used to 2020 Tokyo Olympic symbol mark and Japanese national football uniform. The professional Tokushima baseball team is named Indigo Socks.

Japanese proverb says,
Although the blue comes from the indigo plant and is bluer than the indigo.
It means that the student surpasses the teacher.
