Hitachi Shipbuilding & Engineering restructures the water processing system business for the aquarium. Sales promotion and sales are maintained to the live fish equipment etc. of the fishing port in fiscal year 2005 because the update demand for the aquarium came back in fiscal year 2004. In addition, it aims at the business development in an Asian region within two years from one year. There are a lot of traders of the water disposal of the aquarium only who getting water or drain the water tank. On the other hand, the feature in this company is to be able to correspond from getting water to drain. The business development is done to the live fish equipment of the fishing port, the market, and Regional Fishery Reserch Laboratories, etc. that take Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) method because it is sanitary. It is advertised to undertake the operation management of the water disposal.
In the system of this company, the pressure type that uses the pressure of the pump is a main current. The processing performances were earlier than the gravity types that the processing area grows, and there were a lot of adoptions with the aquarium in the city part because it was able to reduce the filtration tank. Up to now, there are a delivery results in 22 places such as Kaiyukan aquarium (Osaka City Minato Ward), Yokohama, Hakkeijima Sea Paradise (Yokohama City Kanazawa Ward), and the sea eggs (ooita city).
日立造船は水族館向け水処理システム事業を再構築する。０４年度までで水族館の更新需要が一巡したことから、０５年度は漁港の活魚設備などに売り込み、売り上げを維持する。さらに、１年から２年以内にアジア地域での事業展開を目指す。水族館の水処理は、水槽の取水あるいは排水だけを行う業者が多い。これに対して同社は、取水から排水まで対応できるのが特徴です。衛生的なため、危害分析重要管理点（ＨＡＣＣＰ）方式を取り入れる漁港や市場、水産研究所などの活魚設備へ営業展開する。水処理の運転管理を請け負うことも宣伝する。
同社のシステムはポンプの圧力を利用する圧力式が主流。処理面積が大きくなる重力式に比べ、処理能力が早く、濾過槽を小さくできることから、都市部の水族館での採用が多かった。これまで、海遊館（大阪市港区）や横浜・八景島シーパラダイス（横浜市金沢区）、海たまご（大分市）など２２カ所に納入実績がある。
