My teacher and I talked about the weird things we ate in our life.
I didn’t know what NAMAKO is called in English. I tried to explain it and said it was like a big fat MIMIZU. I wasn’t able to explain MIMIZU in English too…
Ok. I am going to look for these words in an internet dictionary.
なまこ 海鼠 a trepang; a sea cucumber [slug] みみず 蚯蚓 an earthworm; a worm; 《US》 an angleworm; a fishworm
If only I could remember these words…
My teacher said he had eaten a sparrow and lizard in Japan. He won this match, however I didn’t want to win anyway. By the way, I have never heard of a lizard’s plate. If you know anything about this meal, please let me know!
We also talked about winter sports. He said he started snowboarding after he came to Japan. He didn’t know the place where you could ski or snowboard in England. He explained the reason “there was no mountain in England”. That makes sense! I believed what he said, but he could make fun of me!?
