一方、Ban Ki-moon 事務総長は、特使をミャンマーへ派遣とのこと。今年から、アジア出身の事務総長が就任、アジアの民主化に乗り遅れた国の 軍政vs国民の民主化要求 激突に対して、有効な国連の関与に、事務総長手腕を発揮できるでしょうか。

The UN Security Council was to hold emergency talks on Wednesday on the deadly clashes between security forces and anti-government protesters in Myanmar although Russia described the situation as an "internal matter".
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the 15-member council this month, said the session would be held from 3:00 pm (1900 GMT) at the request of European members.
UN chief Ban Ki-moon said he was sending his special envoy Ibrahim Gambari to the region and urged Yangon military rulers "to cooperate fully" with his good offices mission aimed at assisting "in the process of national reconciliation through dialogue."
