マティアスインタビュー　6月23日2008年パート　１ウェブマスター（以下Ｗと呼ぶ）：ミュンヘンにギターの店をひらきましたが、これからはビジネスマンになるつもりですか？マティアス（以下Ｍと呼ぶ）：皆さん、ようこそ。僕は今ミュンヘンのギターストアーにいます。とってもすばらしいお店なんだ。見てください。で、質問の答えだけれど、ちょっと前、僕のスコーピオンズ参加30周年のお祝いをしたんだよ。だからメインにはミュージックビジネスの方に力を入れたいとおもってるんだ。みんなギターを買ったり、集めたり、売ったりしてるよね。だから、僕の場合はギターが好きだし、これはホビーだね。Ｗ：お店の裏側にある哲学はなんですか？Ｍ：他にこんなギターだけ売ってる店があるかどうかはわからないけど、ここではギター、それに関するアクセサリー、アンプだけを売ってるんだ。だから、この店はギターを愛するものの店なんだ。最近有名なアーティストも立ち寄ってくれたよ。ここに僕の良き友達が作ってくれたゲストブックがあるんだ。そして、この中にはオープンしてたった3ヶ月足らずなんだけど、結構いろんな人が来てくれてるんだよ。ほら、リッチー・サンボラの書き込みだよ。友達でもあるリッチーは、ゴールデンマスターキャスターを買っていってくれたよ。他にもＫＩＳＳの（名前聞き取り不能）も来てくれてるんだ。ミュンヘンは素敵な町だし、訪れた人たちもこの店を気に入ってくれてる。そのことが僕をハッピーにしてくれるんだ。Ｗ：どのくらいここで過ごすのですか？Ｍ：できるだけここで過ごしたいとは思ってるんだけど、みんなも知ってのとおり、僕の第一の職業はスコーピオンズとしてのギタリストなんだ。そして、スコーピオンズは今年、たくさん活動してるんだ。ロシアから始まり、今はヨーロッパの各地を回っているし、時期北アメリカにも行く。その後9月にはブラジルやメキシコ、10月はＵＫ、それから名前も知らない町にも行くだろう。そういった合間をみては店を訪れたいと思ってるんだ。その時はまたみんなに早めに知らせるから、店に会いにきてくれたらうれしいね。楽しんでやってるんだ。Ｗ：今回はコンサートの前にセットリストを投票で決めてますね。どうやってそのアイディアが浮かんできたのですか？また、感想はどうですか？Ｍ：バンドは長い間ツアーして回ってるだろ？そうすると、どうしてもセットリストがマンネリ化して来るんだ。ちょっと変えたりもするけどね。もちろん大多数のファンは、ビッグヒットした曲を聴きたがってる。バラードを聴きたい者もいるし、他のを聞きたいものもいる。それで、バンドのみんなと話たんだけど、ニューテクノロジーのインターネットって物を使って、ファンが本当に聴きたいものは何か調査してみようって事になったんだ。今のところ国ごとに投票してもらってるけど、国によって好きな曲がまちまちなのは面白いね。「No One Like You」がトップにあったり、最下位だったり。これからもこの方法を続けていければ良いと思ってる。Ｗ：ブラジルのファンは、2008年のツアーは５０％がアコースティカで５０％がハードロックと聞かされているようですが、そのツアーはどういったものなんですか？2001年のアコースティカＩのような感じですか？Ｍ：アコースティカＩはブラジルではもっとも人気のあるアルバムのひとつなんだ。ダイヤモンドアワードを受賞したんだ。プラティナムアワードより位が高いんだよ。だから、多くの人々があのアルバムについてしってるだろう。だから、今年はそれらをコンバインしたショーをしたいんだ。半分はアコースティックで半分はロックショーという風にね。そして、新たにアコースティック用に曲もアレンジする予定だよ。ブラジルのミュージシャンと一緒に先でスタジオ入りする予定なんだ。今までとは違ったものにするつもりだよ。今、ルドルフはこの町に来てないけど、このギターはルドルフの物で、彼の魂はここに僕と一緒にいるわけだよ。パート２Ｗ：年末にサウス・イーストアジアでツアーするそうですね。それと、何人かのファンは北アメリカのイーストコーストでのショーが無いことについて不平をもらしていますが、そのあたりはどうでしょう？Ｍ：まず、アジアに行くという事は聞いてるよ。楽しみにしてる。北アメリカの8月のツアーについてだけど、なんと言ったらいいだろうね。これらはすべてマネージメントやブッキングエージェントの仕事だからね。もちろんスコーピオンズはどこででもショーはやりたいんだよ。 8月にはウエストコーストとミッドウエストを回りシカゴで終わるんだ。これは、まだ話だけの段階だけど、今年の終わり、アジアツアーの後にイーストコーストを交えた大々的な北アメリカツアーのプランも出ては来てるんだ。僕らのアメリカでの窓口はとっても狭いんだ。でも、8月にサミーヘイガーとショーをやって、お互い気に入ったなら、もっと大きいパッケージのツアーの話も出てくるかもしれないし。今の段階で、僕が知ってる事はみんなが知ってる事とさほど変わらないんだよ。だから、みんなにも頑張って辛抱してもらいたいんだ。さ、最後の質問に行こうか？Ｗ：Ｕｋの日程はいつ確定されますか？Ｍ：あー、ＵＫの日程ね。10月に予定してるんだけど、マネージメントのポリシーで、確実にプロモーターと契約できるまで公表しないんだ。でも、たぶんツアーはやるね。Ｗ：ＨＨ１の売り上げには満足してますか？Ｍ：あー、そうだね～。あのアルバムは３～４ヶ月もかけて作り上げた作品だろ。デズモンド・チャイルドやジェームズ・マイケルなどの大物との作品だ。だから、当然期待は大きいものだったよ。でも、今の音楽界には常に失望させられるものなんだ。あれだけ力をいれたんだから、もっとラジオ局やテレビ局にもサポートして欲しかったけど、残念だね。あのアルバムはすばらしいし、大好きだよ。でも、それと現実とはかみ合わないのさ。もっと多くの人にもサポートしてもらいたかったけどね。Ｗ：ニューリリースの予定はありますか？Ｍ：あー、特にはないね。ブラジルでのツアーをフィルムに収めようかとは話してるけど。（以下面倒なので省略）Ｗ：ファンの中にはプロモーションが足りないと不平をもらしている者もいるようですね。音楽界の市場も変化しつつあるし。それについてはどうですか？Ｍ：音楽の市場は大きく変わったね。それでも、スコーピオンズはまずまずだと思うよ。世界中で人気があるしね。メディアはもう70年代、80年代の曲は追いかけないんだ。少しは変化はあるけどね。ファンの場合を言うと、大多数のファンはまったく不平はこぼさないんだ。でも、いつも数人の決まったファンが常に文句を言ってる。文句を言ってどうなるって言うんだい？それより、外に出て何か意味のあることをすべきだよ。文句を言う代わりにね。文句があるなら、それについて何かすべきだよ。ラジオ局に文句があるなら、言ってそう言えばいい。文句を言う事は解決ではないんだからね。 ***********＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊マティアスのオフィシャルサイト：　http://www.matthiasjabs.de/jabs2/マティアスのギターショップサイト：　http://www.mjguitars.de/html/mj_guitar_shop_english.htmlグッズは人気が高く、売り出されるとすぐ売り切れるそうです。マティアスがお店に出るときは、予告があるのでマティアスに会える可能性も高くなりますね。ドイツのミュンヘンに行かれる予定の方は、ぜひこのお店に立ち寄ってみましょう。住所：http://www.mjguitars.de/html/location_english.html

チャリティーショー

Meine visited Beijing for the first time on Tuesday, June 10, 2008."Klaus Meine, lead singer of the legendary rock band Scorpions, thinks Beijing is an impressive city and looks forward to performing there someday.The veteran German rocker drew the conclusion on his first visit to the Chinese capital, where he was invited to the foundation-laying ceremony of a Sino-German medical research program on Tuesday, Beijing Times reports.Meine, 60, told the newspaper that he was impressed by many stunning buildings on his way to the hotel. He was also amazed by the Capital Airport's new Terminal 3. However, Meine rued his tight schedule wouldn't allow him time to visit the Forbidden City or the Great Wall.When his band mates learnt he was coming to Beijing, "they were all jealous," Meine says. "We are all looking forward to playing here someday."If a Scorpions concert happens in Beijing, Meine hopes it will be held in a small venue so that the band can get close to their Chinese fans. He also hopes to invite Jackie Chan to the gig because "he is a legendary figure."Scorpions were founded in 1965. He ages - inevitalby. Still, a rockstar is always a rockstar even if he is getting close to the retirement age. 60-year-old Klaus Meine is one of those ageing rockers who has no intention of retiring.Meine is the frontman of the German band Scorpions. The small man has been singing in the band since the beginning of the 70´s. The other two veterans of the current line-up are Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs. The pioneers of melodic hard rock, originally from Germany, gave their performance at Sauna Open Air festivals on Saturday.The concert was not a part of a bigger tour, so the band , who arrived in Tampere on their private jet plane, returned back home the same night. Without a proper fee, an individual gig like this wouldn´t be done.-Travelling in Europe is easy : two hours and you are back home. Not bad at all, says Meine.The singer appreciates comfort, which is understandable, since he has been touring for more than 30yrs all over the world with his band.*The hat will stayExcept for his high-pitched singing voice, you recognize the man from his hat. You know, the leather hat , looking like a beret, showing a bush of dark curly hair from underneath.The hat is such an important part of his image that when he made a mistake of taking it off around the time EyeIIEye was made, the fans got nervous.- Nobody wanted to know what I looked like without the hat. When I put it back on, people thought it had a magic power or something.- Losing hair is not a problem for me. I started having hair loss when I was 20.Meine gets excited when I compare his hat to the face paintings of Kiss.We are also mentioning Kiss when I ask Meine if they are going to make the pyramid the way they used to in the 80´s, - Kiss just did it a while ago in the bar of a hotel in Hamburg. I think we´ll leave it to them .*You can always come to FinlandThe starting point for the young Scorpions was to get away from Germany. Also, they didn´t want to play Kraut rock. They stuck to their goal of creating an international career. They almost adopted the name Stalingrad - Rammstein of their time.- Our first producer Conny Plank suggested it. We didn´t agree. I´m not a big fan of Ramm-stein, but I like their evergy, Meine says.- We have German passports but we belong to the international rock family.Bands like Van Halen, Aerosmith and Bon Jove are members of that same family.*New stars are bornNew rockstars are born all the time in this world. The result is inevitable : the tiring rockstars have to step aside and give way to the energetic newcomers.Meine looks puzzled when I ask him why Scorpions keep on coming to Finland year after year and why he thinks people here are still interested in seeing them.- The Finns respect rock legends who have survived the changes of styles in music , KlausMeine explains.Fortunately, a country like Finland exists, where "old" bands like Scorpions and Whitesnake are always wellcome.
