Chikuzen talked about his cover works on a music show on Nov. 11 :
The reason why he is so eager for cover works, saying that cover works is the most important, more than original .

The scene started with photo session in the town where Chikuzen lived in before he made a debut.
Chikuzen made a debut as a member of Sing Like Talking in 1988 , age 25.
Since then, he has been highly appreciated not only as a singer, but also a composer.
At the same time, he started his solo works with a covered album " Cornerstones
Cover works boom is at its height in Japan now.
But Chikuzen has been doing his cover works for 12 years.
He explained his eagerness that:
He wants to pursue the melody and sound he feels really good.

The scene of recording:
Chikuzen recorded chorus out of the air-
Various elements are included in his music , country, soul, gospel -and The Beatles.
Since he started his music career as S.L.T., his belief has been " music is beyond category ".

The scene in Memphis
Chikuzen listened to the performance of a street band -his interest to new music is never-ending.
The final process of mixing of " Cornerstones 4 " was done in a familiar studio in Memphis.
The song written 27 years ago impressed the engineers in Memphis:
Chikuzen said that it might be because words with melody that people can share the emotions
At that night, they went to a Japanese restaurant for dinner.
A few young men took an interest in them and played the guitar for them.
Chikuzen borrowed his guitar and performed " Change the World " as a token of thanks, then customers in the restaurant started to sing and dance.

After Chikuzen returned to Japan, he took part in various events and concerts.
At the event of a radio station in Sapporo , he performed " Hey Jude " with other guests.
A famous song performed by Chikuzen united the stage and audience:
Chikuzen compared performing a famous song together as a campfire -sharing the song and joy .

The scene in Yokohama , where Chikuzen lived in when he was young, dreaming of becoming a professional musician:
He used to sit on a roof of an apartment building, listening to music, playing the guitar.
He said that he was glad to find the appeal of the songs he liked back then had never faded ; it is his starting point of his cover works -and his music.

Chikuzen concluded his eagerness for his cover works saying:
Good music exists in good songs ; he wishes to succeed and pass down.
And for the people who listen to those songs for the first time, and for the people who already know the original-
He wishes everyone to listen to good songs, and enhance his music and songs, too.

今日録画をやっと観る事が出来ました～
凄く良かったですが、テープがキレGET BACKが歌い終わったところで終了ガッカリでした～涙 (2007.11.15 21:34:30)

私ビートルズって王道過ぎて聞き入ったこと無いんですけど、（好きですけどね）竹善さんが歌うともんのすご～っく自然に入ってくるんですよ (2007.11.16 02:11:21)

竹善さんの歌うビートルズはいいですね。

それは残念！
"いい歌にはそこに音楽がある、それを歌い継いでいくことでリスナーにもいい音楽を知ってほしいし、自分の音楽性も高めたい"という風に締め括っておりました。
