Due to electric shortage after the 3.11 earthquake, saving electricity is required nationwide. So it is required to refrain from cooling rooms too much. Justas for this, I'd like to welcome such movement from this reason:

Like many other female office workers, I'm also the one who have suffered from too strong air-conditioning in summer
. No wonder- most offices have been male-oriented. Many male office workers wear thick long-sleeve business suits and tie even in hot summer, and complain that it's hot and uncomfortable, and turn the thermostat down. And many female workers have to prepare something to protect themselves from cold room such as cardigans and rugs to avoid poor circulation. I was also the one.
So as is already said, I confess I am also the one who feel secretly relieved. You know what; in the first place,, not only for female. There are various ailment caused by the cold such as air conditioner sickness, autonomic dystonia, various trouble during the periods. And I've read that cancer cells grow best at body temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius.
However... Light business clothing during summer is endorsed. I hope this movement won't end up as empty slogans. I heard that there are still many workers who don't wear light clothing -or cannot wear due to the reason that their company are not allowing, or to keep up appearances. And... in this early spring, I worked an assistant at an entrance examination for a major company. At that time, it was still cold and most applicants wore usual business suits for winter.
It could be up to the companies, but since job-hunting undergraduates worry about appearances, they might force themselves to keep on clothing formally. I'm not assisting in job interviews in summer -just let me tell them to be careful enough for heat exhaustion. -Me? When I have to wear business suits in summer, I wear short-sleeved blouse and wear jacket in the office.
