Saturn is a beautiful planet. Besides, such a mysterious and interesting world. I recall when I started to read about space exploration again in 2015, my first surprise about Saturn was the number of moons had increased to 61 while I was unaware. 53 of those moons have names as of September 2017! Eventually, eight provisional moons will be given names. Needless to say, new sharp pictures are fascinating
. Discoveries at Titan
and Enceladus
will give people important clues about life on Earth. how senseless and lame of peopleto conflict and kill each other. So does "Pale Blue Dot" from Saturn. -Do those self-centered, imbecline, exhibitionistic, dictatorial rulers understand that if they destroy Pale Blue Dot to flaunt themselves, it means death of THEIR OWN?
This picture, ring and many moons, Saturn with ring shadows, and Saturn seen from above are my favorite pictures by Cassini. (In random order)
I used to have a deep interest in space and space exploration, but backed down once, and came back in spring 2015. SoI missed the beginningof Cassini-Huygens mission. But it's lucky I came back in 2015 because I didn't miss the final phase and termination of Cassini mission.
And I couldcelebrate 40 anniversaryof Voyager
mission that I used to read about particularly eagerly. I was away from space exploration for a long time, and when I came back, they were still on mission.
Voyagers' achievements that led to success of Cassini mission should also be too important to pass up: This is what I didn't understand when I was a junior high-school kid- Pioneer 11
and twin Voyagers were built in 1970s, and compared to subsequent spacecraft, their payload were lower in performance. Besides, they just passed by Saturn in short time, So they couldn't make enough research. Even so, thanks to their discovery, new mysteries to solve were taken over by Cassini and Huygens.
Incidentally, I couldn't apply for " #MessageToVoyager
" because I don't use any of social media that JPL
designates.
