天使にラブソングを‥

ちょっと外斜視気味の目が独特。
あと調べてたらIMDB（英語圏の映画批評サイト）での評価が低くてビックリ。
ＩＭＤＢってだいたい、甘めの評価が付くのに不思議だ

個人的には歌のシーン中心に結構楽しめた（日本語字幕が無い場面が目立つのが残念。
英語だとちゃんと入っているのに）のだが、英語圏では話に深みがなくて予定調和なのが不人気の一因らしい。
まあ、人物名がちゃんとある登場人物はゴールドバーグ（しかも二つ）と最初のコーラス２人（苗字なし）、シスター３人、ハーベイ･カイテルとその部下二人（ジョーとウィリー、苗字なし）、あとは刑事。
マクゴナガル先生も「Mother Superior」でお仕舞い。

あとは単なるゴールドバーグの宣伝映画になっている、ということも不人気の一因らしい。
ちなみに92年の映画で｢ゴースト」 (1990)のあと。

ＩＭＤＢトリビアによると、もともとはベッド・ミドラー用の脚本で、ミドラーが抜けたあとかなり手ひどい脚本の迷走があったそうだ。なんとキャリー・フィッシャーも脚本家として参加していた。

ゴールドバーグ: I'm not stayin' in no damn convent with these people.

ゴールドバーグの食卓の祈り。「死の谷」の一節とか、ごちゃごちゃになっている。
後半は大統領の就任演説か何か？字幕ではこういうのが辛いところ。
ヘリコプターから「リノ」をみた院長が「ゴモラよ」と字幕では訳しているが
せめて「悪徳の町よ」とでも訳すべきなのでは。

ゴールドバーグ: Don't worry, we will always be together.
Mary Lazarus: That's what Diana Ross said!
ダイアナ・ロスもそう言っていたわ。
こういうのがよく分からない。

Sister Mary Robert: [looking at Reno from the helicopter] It's beautiful!
Sister Mary Patrick: And what a lovely name, Reno!
Mother Superior: ...and Gomorrah!

修道女: A progressive convent? Sounds awful. I liked my convent in Vancouver.
Out in the woods. It wasn't all modern like some of these new-fangled convents.
We didn't have electricity. Bare feet, cold water. They were nuns.
Sister Mary Patrick: Sounds wonderful!
Sister Mary Lazarus: It was hell on earth, I loved it. This place is a Hilton.

こういうギャグも分からないなあ。

Screenwriter Paul Rudnick wrote the original script back in 1987 and Bette Midler was supposed to be cast for the role of Dolores.
After Midler had left the project, the script underwent several re-writes by screenwriters Carrie Fisher, Eleanor Bergstein, Nancy Meyers, Jim Cash, Jack Epps Jr. and Robert Harling.
え、こんなところにキャリー･フィッシャーの名前が。それにしても87年の脚本が映画になったのが92年。

The church in which Whoopi Goldberg takes refuge is St. Paul's Catholic Church located at 221 Valley Street (near Church St.) in San Francisco's Outer Mission district.
The Blues Brothers appear in the background of the final scene, when the choir sings to the Pope.

ちなみにジョン・ベルーシが死んだのが「5 March 1982」

The Reno police station shown is actually the main post office in downtown Reno, with some (real) patrol cars parked outside for set dressing.
The patrol cars were driven by officers working security on the set.
The real police station in Reno didn't look as much like a police station to the film's director.
警察署の外観、実は郵便局だそう。警察の方は、それっぽく見えなかったらしい。

imdbの質問コーナーから、目覚ましのフラワークロックの声、ネイティブも聞き取れなかったみたいです。

What the hell does that flower say? It sounds something like "Early to rise sleepy head". Anyone know?

Actually, it says "Out of bed, you daisy head"...and i know for sure, since when you watch the movie w/ captions, that's what it says:)
