目黒川の桜録って出し2025　Meguro River Cherry Blossoms 2025

On Sunday, March 30, despite the unseasonably cold weather, the rain from the previous day had cleared, and the sky was blue. So I went to see the cherry blossoms along Meguro River.

池尻大橋側は咲き初めの木も多く、まだこれからという印象。それと、目黒川の桜全般に言えることだが、かなり枝を刈り込んだらいく、以前のように川に向かって枝がしだれる様子はあまり見られなかった。
On the Ikejiri-Ohashi side, many trees were just beginning to bloom, giving the impression that the season was still getting started. Also, speaking of Meguro River’s cherry blossoms in general, the branches seem to have been heavily pruned, so the way they used to droop gracefully toward the river is much less visible now.

山の手通りを越えて、中目黒側に行くと、俄然人が多くなってくる。
Crossing Yamate Street toward the Nakameguro side, the crowds suddenly become much denser.

川沿いのスタバは、なんと360分待ち！
The Starbucks along the river had a wait time of—get this—360 minutes!

訪れのが15時過ぎとあって、日がやや傾き始めていた。

今年SNSなどで話題になった、綿菓子の乗ったシャンドン・ロゼ。
This year, the Chandon Rosé topped with cotton candy has been making the rounds on social media.

中目黒方面の桜はよく咲いていて、ほぼ満開といってよい状態だった。ただ、前述のようにかなり枝葉を刈り込んでしまったようで、ゴージャスさはやや後退した感があった。これもやはりソメイヨシノの高齢化が関係しているのだろうか。都内は４月に入ると冷たい雨の日が続きそうで、果たして今週末までこの状態を保ってくれているか、少しばかり心配である。
The cherry blossoms toward Nakameguro were in full bloom—almost at their peak. However, as mentioned earlier, many branches seem to have been heavily pruned, so the overall lushness felt somewhat reduced. I wonder if this is also related to the aging of the Somei Yoshino trees. With cold, rainy days expected in Tokyo once April begins, I’m a little worried whether the blossoms will hold up until this weekend.
