**************************************************:: It’s been about 10 days since I got injured. At first, the doctor said it would take around two weeks to heal, but the swelling and pain are still quite severe, and I don’t feel it will fully recover within that time.
Sat 4/12: Fell at home early morning and hit my buttocks hard. Went to the ER in the afternoon for a CT scan. No bone abnormalities found, but a large hematoma was detected. I was advised to visit a major hospital if it worsened.
Sun 4/13: Rested at home all day. Went to Doutor café in the evening but returned early because sitting caused pain. (Pain level about 8/10, with 10 being the worst pain that day.)
Mon 4/14: Woke up with significant pain, possibly because the affected area pressed against the futon while sleeping. Felt slightly dizzy, so I visited an orthopedic clinic in Jinbocho. Again, no bone damage, but told to rest until bleeding in the gluteal muscle stops. (Pain 9/10)
Wed 4/16: Pain flared up again upon waking. Work was tough, so I resumed taking Loxonin (painkiller). (8/10)
Thu 4/17: Took painkillers in the morning. Pain was somewhat better than the day before but still severe with swelling; stair climbing was difficult. Took English lessons at night despite pain. (7/10)
Fri 4/18: Took a substitute holiday. Originally planned to go somewhere in Tokyo, but wasn’t up to walking around, so stayed mostly near home. (6/10)
Sat 4/19: English conversation class in Shibuya in the morning. Window shopping in Shibuya in the afternoon. Pain still persistent but managed to walk over 8,000 steps. (5.5/10)
Sun 4/20: Went for a 1.5-hour drive in the evening with my wife and child. Resumed drinking alcohol for the first time since the injury. (5.5/10)
The hematoma on my buttocks is still quite large, and the lower half of my buttocks remains darkly bruised. It’s still very painful to sit on a chair or bed. However, I no longer struggle with stair climbing or experience pain that prevents me from sleeping like before. If the initial pain was a 10, it’s now about a 5, but it’s still hard to say it’s below 4 and I’m obviously far from fully recovered. Sitting for long periods remains difficult and makes traveling long distances on trains or by car during Golden Week quite challenging. On the bright side, I’m at least well enough to take walks around the Tokyo metropolitan area.
