Although such children had existed since long ago.

Unlike back then, this time, at least, those large states didn't press World Cup to be bulldozed on favorable schedule for their local media.
They must assume that World Cup is not as worth broadcasting as Olympic game and local nation don't take interests in World Cup compared to Olympic game
I know that I'm missing something important, though.
Superfluously: I'd like to ask all the national soccer players in the world which is prouder and more honorable for them, winning World Cup or Olympic gold medal.
