今日はエルビス・プレスリーの誕生日です。生きていたら91歳になります。

1956年7月13日、ハウンド・ドッグと両A面シングルレコードとして発売されたこの曲は、全米11週間連続ナンバーワンという当時の記録を作りました。

ちなみに連続12週の記録を阻んだのは自らの『ラブ・ミー・テンダー』です。

ビルボードの年間チャートの2位を記録し、プラチナディスクに。

年間１位も同じくエルビスの『ハート・ブレイク・ホテル』でした。

１位独走だったんですね。ラジオから流れてくるのはエルビスばっかりだったに違いありません。

何でそんなに流行ったんでしょうね。
