This steam locomotive, c 56 No. 702, was made by Japanese train corporation. It was used duraing the period 1946-1976 The vintage steam locomotive shown was employed for military transport service in the World War II along the Death Railway (Wang Pho station) to Burma. After the war ended, it was opened to passenger traffic until 1976. It was officially handes over on 12 th May, 1995 by the the State Railway of Thailand to Kanchanaburi Province, for World war II commemoration and historical tourist attraction purpose. 12 May 1995
