ニューズウイーク最新号で、急成長を遂げている最もホットな10都市、という特集が組まれています。
アジアへの出入り口として、なんと！福岡市が選ばれていました！
ニューズウイーク誌によると、今後は大都市の人口は減る傾向になるため、いわゆる小規模な第2の都市が発展の中心になっていくと指摘していました。
ちなみに、福岡市については、同市や周辺地域にトヨタ自動車などの大手企業が投資を続けており、ポテンシャルの高さを指摘していました。
日本、頑張れ！ですね。

NEW YORK 8212; Newsweek magazine selected Fukuoka as its pick for Japan in its ranking of the fastest-growing cities in each of the world's 10 "most important" economies, dubbing it one of the "unlikely boomtowns," in its edition published Monday.
The U.S. weekly said that while the rate of population growth in major cities such as Tokyo and New York has slowed, that of smaller "Second Cities" is growing, and they are destined to become the center of development in coming years.
