五月節句の菓子に
かしわ餅を用意しています。
子どもが元気に育つようにという
親の願いが、このお菓子に込められています。
「かしわ」と名前がありますが、
当地では、かしわの葉の代わりに
「さんきらい」の葉を使います。
この葉の木のツルにはトゲがあり、
「猿も嫌い」な木でサンキライ。
蒸すととてもいい香りがします。
こし餡を詰めた餅を包む
葉の表面には光沢があり、
餅が、引っ付きにくく
食べやすい特徴もあります。
抗菌作用もあって、餅を包むようになった
ようです。
編集子は、長くこれが柏の葉だと
思い込んでいました。
香り良い、サンキライ柏餅です。
