Three rows of seats with an optional bench as alternative to the standard buckets means up to nine passengers can sit comfortably in the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban Three QTR-Ton SUV . The engine is a strong 352-horsepower, with a 6.0 liter V-8 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. This transmission set up gives excellent control with or without a trailer, adding benefits in fuel conservation, vehicle control, and noise reduction. The lowest gear helps you start moving, despite a heavy load, and the highest keeps the engine at optimal rate during highway driving.

There is a standard flex-fuel option for those that prefer E85, though this will diminish fuel efficiency. Either two wheel drive or four wheel drive gives better handling in icy conditions, depending on your preference, and a new towing package has integrated brake control for additional safety. Unfortunately, with four-wheel drive engaged, fuel efficiency is at a minimum, only 10 miles per gallon in the city, and 15 mpg average on highways. Active Fuel Management saves on gas use automatically, without sacrificing any smoothness or power.

The Chevrolet Suburban Three QTR-Ton SUVtows trailers with ease, and is perfect for hauling large families with plenty of cargo room to spare. Even with the maximum number of passengers, there is 45 cubic feet of cargo space. With just two up front, the total capacity is a massive 137 cubic feet. More expensive and less fuel-efficient than the half-ton model, the best reason to go this route is for towing large trailers. In two-wheel drive mode, the SUV can pull 9,600 pounds, reduced to 9,400 pounds when the four-wheel drive is engaged. A tow/haul mode allows more effective travel when terrain is rough, by reducing shifting and adding compression braking.

Other safety features included standard on the Chevrolet Suburban Three QTR-Ton SUVare traction control, all-disc anti-lock brakes, the StabiliTrak electronic stability system with rollover mitigation, and side curtain airbags. OnStar is included with a free six month trial period for the Directions and Connections plan, which features Turn-by-Turn Navigation. Select the optional rearview cameras, park sensors, and blind spot alert system for the best protection against accidents due to limited visibility. However, it is important to bear in mind that these only protect your vehicle, they do not take any trailers or towed objects into consideration. The 2011 Chevrolet Suburban Three QTR-Ton SUVhas not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
