Dodge SUV Reviews

When it comes to sport utility vehicles, Dodge has something for everyone. Whether you are looking for one that is fuel-efficient and easy to maneuver and park in the city, or if you are looking for something to tackle rough terrain on the road less traveled, Dodge has you covered. Dodge Journey and Durango will continue to be strong competitors in the market once again, drawing the attention of new eyes as well as long-time loyal consumers to the line.

The 2013 Journey is being called the most versatile crossover, but it also very well may be the most inexpensive with an unbelievable starting MSRP of $18,995. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine has plenty of get-up-and-go, and can travel over 500 highway miles on one tank. Then, the 3.6-liter V6 puts out 283 horsepower for great acceleration and towing capabilities.

For 2013, Journey gets an upgraded suspension for improved performance and better cornering. Optional all-wheel drive ensures tires grip their best at all times while 50 safety features offer peace-of-mind.

On the outside, an iconic split-crosshair honeycomb grille, chrome-tipped dual exhaust and a distance front fascia are highlighted by 10 brilliant colors, including a Winter Chill Pearl Coat that’s pretty special.

Inside, Journey welcomes you with a contemporary design, soft-touch materials and comfortable seating. Up to seven passengers can be hauled in the Journey, or you may choose to fold that third row seat and have a generous amount of fulltime cargo space. Journey is available in the American Value Package, SXT Crew, R/T trims and competes with Chevrolet Equinox, Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V .

The other SUV in Dodge’s lineup is the well-respected Durango. This was one of the first SUVs on the market, and it is better than ever. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety picked the Durango as a Top Safety Pick, and with a surprisingly low starting MSRP of $29,495, it is more affordable than most people think.

Although Durango does offer a 3.6-liter V6 that has more power than what most will need, it is their 5.7-liter HEMI® VVT V8 that is the strong selling point. The V8 can tow up to 7,400 pounds, and all-wheel drive is available. Plus, trailer sway control helps you maintain control of your load.

Durango offers seating for seven with up to 50 combinations, and the refined instrument panel offers high contrast gauges that remind you why you chose a Dodge every time you look at them. Available Uconnect® allows you to launch your MP3 playback, ask for directions and make a call simply by using audible commands.

For an enhanced listening experience, Durango has a 10-speaker Alpine® premium sound system available, or you may want to add on the video entertainment system to keep rear seat riders happy. You can even turn your vehicle into a Wi-Fi hot spot! Choose from a SXT, Crew, R/T or Citadel trim, with each trim offering its own unique features. Durango is found in the competitive segment of larger crossovers, rivaled against Chevrolet Traverse , Ford Explorer , Ford Flex and Mazda CX-9.
