Front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive can be configured for all trims.There was immediate power from the turbocharged engine when opening up the throttle.Its handling was composed when going through the corner.The brake pedal had enough firmness to make the stopping force easy to modulate.The base trim has a good amount of additional features that can be added.Excellent safety ratings provide a sense of security to the potential buyer.Entering the cabin was easy with doors that open wide and a low step-in height.The legroom and headroom were generous even for the taller passenger.The seats were supportive and remained comfortable on longer trips.Impacts were dampened enough to not feel harsh in the ride quality.
There was turbo lag present in the low-end of the rev range.Body roll was evident and restrained its cornering ability.The steering was not the most accurate and disengaged at times.Choosing a sportier driving mode increased the steering effort too much.The auto showed a wobble when braking hard and the brake pedal was soft at first.The base trim does not have options for bigger wheels.Rear doors were a little long and did not open enough in tight parking spaces.There is no third row of seats available.The fuel efficiency of the available engines is lower compared to the Santa Fe Sport's competition.
