The 2012 DB9 by Aston Martin can entice a driver and passenger down to the soul. For many, it is nearly impossible to even think of this line without picturing James Bond! The soulful DB9 is built with exquisite craftsmanship, superb materials and the ultimate in elite sports car design. The DB9 by Aston Martin even comes in three special editions this year, including Base, Luxury and Sport.

The superb DB9 comes equipped with a 5.9L V12 engine that produces 470 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The speedy DB9 accelerates from zero to 60mph in a lighting fast 4.6 seconds. Considering the maximum speed of the DB9 is 186 miles per hour, it will more than satisfy your need for speed. A six-speed automatic transmission is now standard and a manual transmission is no longer available, which will have a few people a little disappointed.

The DB9 by Aston Martin is a two door coupe with driver and passenger seating in the front and seating for two in the back. However, the rear seats are small and not conducive to a comfortable ride for most adults. Quite honestly, it would take a pretty small child to begin to feel comfortable back there. Then again, most people driving one of these couples are not lugging around a car full of kids in it.

The cabin is quite exotic, but most either love or hate the way that the needles on the electroluminescent gauges are made to rotate in different directions. Some will appreciate the diversity while others are sure to find it a distraction. Aside from that, controls are well-placed and easy to find without taking your eyes off the road. Of course, the soft leather throughout and sapphire crystal scream of elegance and let you know that you're driving a luxury car; just in case you forget!

With its active dampers, a compliant ride is achieved. The DB9 takes corners like they were made for it and the two-mode active suspension offers an ultra-high performance. For years, the DB9 was criticized for being a bit flaccid, providing a horribly jiggling ride when faced with broken pavement, but this has been addressed. You may feel a rumble under the steering wheel, but certainly nothing that will become an annoyance.

The base model DB9 starts at $189,915 MSRP. The Luxury edition 2012 DB9 by Aston Martin starts at $196,160 MSRP and the Sports edition comes in at $196,551 MSRP.
