There are two basic trims to the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo. One can go with the base 535i or upgrade to the luxurious 550i. While the engines are the biggest difference in the two, the standard features also differ between them. Both come with the dual mode hatchback that can be opened as a trunk or hatchback depending on how much room is needed. Each trim seats five comfortably and have the choice of standard rear wheel drive or optional all wheel drive. The 535i comes with alloy wheels, xenon headlights that feature washers, fog lights, mirrors outside that are heated and dim automatically and a panoramic sunroof. There are also parking sensors placed on the front and back, wipers that work automatically and exquisite leather inside. The steering wheel both tilts and telescopes and the climate control in both zones is automatic. The front seats are powered and the driver seat has memory. The rear seats slide, fold and recline. Owners will also be able to enjoy the iDrive technology of a BMW, an elaborate sound system with 12 speakers and CD player and Bluetooth.

The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo 550i upgrades to the V8 engine and adds a few features. The powered seats are improved and the vehicle gets a rearview camera and a state of the art navigation system. There are numerous options available on the Gran Turismo, but most of them are divided into various packages. There is the Sport Package that increases the wheel size, improves the tires, ads a black exterior trim and upgrades the seats and steering wheel inside. The M Sport Package changes wheels and steering wheel while adding on a new headliner and aerodynamic kit.

Some other packages for the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo include the Dynamic Handling Package that alters the suspension, the Driver Assistance Package that adds blind spot monitoring and other safety features to help the driver and the Convenience Package which boasts things like a keyless ignition. The Cold Weather Package adds heated seats and steering, the Luxury Seating Package upgrades on the heated seats and adds ventilation and the Luxury Rear Seating Package adds all of it to the rear.

Those who want their own private options without a package have a choice of many. Steering upgrades, adaptive cruise control, a navigation system, upgraded Bluetooth and even a DVD entertainment system are all optional. Buyers can also have cameras on the rear, sides and top of the vehicle if they choose.
