The 7 Series Sedan is BMW's flagship car, and this year's iteration brings plenty to be excited about. The 740i and 740Li are equipped with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that offers 315 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. This is an engine that will satisfy most in power and fuel-economy, as it returns 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. This car features an all-wheel drivetrain and provides drivers with excellent handling in most weather conditions. The 7 Series Sedan only gets better with an upgrade in the trim configuration; the 750I, 750i xDrive, 750Li and 750Li xDrive are all powered by a 4.4-liter V-8 engine and produces 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Of course, if you are someone that is just not satisfied unless you have the ultimate driving experience, the 760Li is for you. This premium trim gives you a 6.0-liter V-12 engine that boasts 535 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. This blows many so-called sports cars away!

. Four-wheel drive is standard with choice 7 Series models by default, and is an option on other models. This four-wheel system allows the wheels of this car to be controlled independently. You will be able to turn the rear wheels the opposite direction of the ones in-front up to 35mph. The gas mileage on cars with this option isn't spectacular, but so is to be expected of a large luxury sedan. A key feature that BMW has implemented into its new 7 Series Sedan is the inclusion of a flap in the grille, which helps remove drag by removing unnecessary airflow.

BMW has managed to shave quite a few pounds of the 2012 7 Series Sedan, thanks to the extensive use of aluminum in the car's exterior as well as its internal parts. The car weighs 120 pounds less, even though it car carries more equipment and houses more features than last year's version. The new 7 Series also touts a new feature called 'IMS' which is essentially a chassis management system that gives users a range of settings and modes, including Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Comfort. The afore mentioned modes can manipulate settings in regards to handling (steering effort), the Stability Control System, Transmission settings (gear change speed) and can also alter the shock settings for the car.
