As usual, Buick has stuffed the Regal Hybrid eAssist Sedan with enough features to make even the most persnickety person incredibly satisfied. The base variety comes complete with automatic headlights, fog lights, leather seating, 18 inch alloy wheels, heated and auto dimming mirrors, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, OnStar and Bluetooth, folding rear seats, heated front seats and power adjustable driver seat, driver lumbar support, iPod and auxiliary jacks, seven speaker stereo with CD player and satellite radio, dual climate zones, full power, and cruise control. As if that isn't enough the Hybrid eAssist model also gets rear parking sensors, keyless entry with ignition and remote start, power front passenger seat, and a household power outlet. If you still want more than you can opt for the Premium 2 package which includes an amazing Harman Kardon stereo for your listening pleasure, side airbags for rear passengers, and xenon headlights that turn on automatically when needed.

While the Buick Regal's Hybrid eAssist electric motor helps the sedan return a quite laudable 25 mpg city and 36 mpg highway, resulting in 29 mpg overall, the lack of power off the line might turn some buyers off. The engine generates only 182 horsepower and 172 pound feet of torque which kind of takes the sportiness out of the sport sedan. A manual shifting six speed automatic is your only option as far as transmissions are concerned but it performs well despite that previously mentioned power issue. This model takes 9.9 seconds to reach 60 mph and that is not going to impress anyone. For those people looking more for luxury and handling and less for speed and acceleration then this car is definitely one to consider. If it wasn't for the fantastic gas mileage then it would probably be worth looking elsewhere because there are better options to be found from other carmakers. With that being said, the impressive list of standard features and 36 mpg highway rating are most likely enough to tempt many buyers that are having trouble making up their mind. That is primarily because the Buick Regal Sedan's handling is one of its strong points so even with only mediocre power they can still be fun to drive on winding roads where acceleration and speed are not necessarily a big deal. Safety features are up to par with other cars in this class and so is braking so you would not be making any sacrifices in those departments by buying this car.
