Citroen Coupe Reviews

French auto manufacturer Citroen hails back to the year 1919 when the company was established by Andre-Gustave Citroen. As the first mass production auto company outside of the United States, Citroen became known for building and establishing new technologies and breaking conventions with its innovative vehicles. The company continues this reputation to this day with its groundbreaking automobiles. Unfortunately, a coupe is not included in the 2012 model year lineup for the traditional Citroen vehicles, but there is a new coupe in the sporty DS line, the DS4.

The C4 coupe is unfortunately absent from this year's lineup, having been discontinued in 2010, after once having been the best-known coupe in the Citroen lineup. The C4 model was first launched in 2004, but its "C4" name dates all the way back to the 1920s. The 2004 C4 replaced the Citroen Xsara and is very similar to the Peugeot 308 which was launched three years later. The 2008-2009 model years saw a refreshed version of the C4 debut with an updated design. The hatchback version of the C4 continues in production to this day. In the UK, the C4 currently has a starting price around £15,750.

The 2012 DS4 high-stance Coupe is very impressive; it was Citroen's second model and was introduced for the 2011 year. (It went on sale shortly before the DS5). Based on the Citroen C4 II (but with more leather and chrome), the DS4 has been called one of the most beautiful cars on the market today. It is known as having a pleasant day-to-day driving experience, while staying stylish, luxurious, and technologically-advanced. It also has excellent safety features and a performance package to rival its good looks.

The DS4 is available in three trim levels: DSIGN, DSTYLE, and DSPORT. The DSIGN trim starts at £18,150, the DSTYLE starts from £20,150, and the DSPORT starts at £23,650 OTR. The DS4 comes with several engine options, dependent on driver choice and trim, including HDi 160 and HDi 110 turbo diesel engines and Petrol VTi 120 and THP 155 engines. The DS4 coupe comes with some pretty amazing safety features, including Micro-Hybrid E-HDI system (e-HDi engine, with hybrid technology, which reduces emissions by 15 percent during city driving), Creative Technologie system (front fog laps with static lighting, and a blind spot monitoring system with reversing sensors), and a first-class driving experience with such features as space-conditioned sound, massaging front seats with lumbar adjustment, a wide selection of different ambiences (as well as programmable sounds), and programmable cruise control.

As far as comfort goes, the DS4 coupe includes a driver-oriented layout with a panoramic widescreen front windshield and individual blinds for those times when the sunshine is too bright. Excellent on-board acoustics and sleek aerodynamics, as well as an engine-noise absorber make the driver feel right at home. The most amazing part of the DS4? All DS drivers receive the Citroen FreeDrive, which covers all general, routine maintenance over the lifetime of the vehicle. Citroen Assistance service will also be there to help in the event of an emergency or vehicle malfunction. Replacement vehicles will be given free of charge while maintenance is performed.
