What is there to say about the 2012 Dodge Charger Sedan that hasn't been said before? If the exterior alone doesn't draw you in, the ride will. With its chiseled body lines, beefy grille and jaw-dropping wheels, it's nearly impossible to not want to buy one and give it a name! The base model has a 3.6-liter V-6, that produces 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This model will have the best fuel-economy at 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

For more solid performance, the heavier Chargers have a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, with 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque for maximum clout. The additional power comes at a price of only about 6 miles of fuel efficiency per gallon lost, thanks to fuel saver technology that automatically turns off unneeded cylinders. Additional fuel-saving measures include larger ports both at intake and at exhaust. Variable valve timing allows the cams to work independently, automatically adjusting for fuel savings or engine power as needed. Those that aren't satisfied with that much power will want to opt for the STR8 Superbee or STR8 models that are powered by a 6.4-liter V-8 engine. It offers 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, which should be more than enough acceleration and passing power for nearly anyone.

The Dodge Charger Sedan's transmission shifts more slowly than one would prefer, causing delays that will take some getting used to if you are used to something a bit more fluid. Some models offer the option of a "sport" mode that holds the vehicle in your chosen gear until you decide to make a change. The size of the vehicle leads one to imagine that the ride along unpaved roads will be unpleasant for passengers. However, regardless of road a condition, the Charger offers a comfortable, smooth experience.

The price of the Dodge Charger Sedan is more expensive than many basic sedans, but less pricey than vehicles that pack just a bit more power. As a result, it makes a nice compromise for those that have graduated from standard sedans but aren't yet ready to take the plunge to the really heavy-hitters.

Safety features include advanced multi-stage front air bags, supplemental front seat mounted side air bags, supplemental side curtain air bags, as well as hill start assist, active head restraints, electronic stability control, brake assist, rain brake support, tire pressure monitoring display, all speed traction control, and four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes.
